Hello everyone! I’m Teresa Fox – General contractor, interior designer and owner of Ariva & Co.

I started this company a couple of years ago while remodeling my own home after being unhappy with the GC and designer we hired onto our project. After designing, project managing and procuring everything for our renovation, my husband (who always has the best foresight) suggested I get my builder’s license and take a swing at the residential construction world. Easier said than done, especially with toddlers at home – ha!

There also happened to be one INCREDIBLY talented craftsman that had been working in our home that I knew I needed on my team – Clint. You’ll probably hear his name a lot because he is amazing and I probably would have never started Ariva & Co. without him. I want to give Clint (and the rest of the team) a proper introduction so more on that later!

We started small with mostly bathroom and kitchen remodels but have grown into something more than I ever thought possible 2.5 years ago. Currently, we’re renovating a 100 year old historical home in Detroit and our team has grown to employ 6 outstanding tradespeople.

Crazy, right?!

In the midst of all of this, I started learning @chiefarchitect so I could provide designs and renderings for our clients. I LOVED designing and clients loved how they could see exactly how their newly renovated space would look in 3D.

Around the same time, my clients were asking for help with things like lighting, hardware, paint suggestions and furniture so I added interior design to our list of services. I have always been obsessed with design but without any formal training I never thought it was possible to practice it within my own career. Boy, was I wrong! Fast forward to today and design is a huge part of our business. I’m truly humbled that our clients trust me with designing the spaces in their home that are the most near and dear to their hearts. A dream, truly!

But you wouldn’t be reading any of this if it weren’t for my amazing husband and three beautiful daughters. They continue to be my “why” and push me to do better every single day.
